Good Trouble Lives On: An Oklahoma Community Conversation
Doors open at 9:30 a.m. | Program begins at 10:00 a.m.
Join us for an Oklahoma Community Conversation as part of the national Good Trouble Lives On weekend honoring the legacy of Congressman John Lewis.
This nonpartisan event will bring together community voices to discuss voting rights, representation, and civic participation in Oklahoma. Together, we’ll reflect on the legacy of Good Trouble and talk about how Oklahomans can stay informed, engaged, and active in strengthening democracy.
The morning will include:
- Coffee and donuts
- A short opening video honoring John Lewis
- Community voices sharing perspectives on voting rights, representation, and civic participation
- A community conversation with audience Q&A
- Opportunities to connect with organizations working on civic engagement in Oklahoma
Voter registration will be available after the program. Anyone who is 17½ or older and otherwise eligible may register in Oklahoma, though you must be 18 to vote. If you know someone who needs to register before the July 31 deadline for the August 25 election, please bring them with you.
Confirmed participants currently include representatives from ACLU Oklahoma, Let’s Fix This, Thanks For Voting OK, and Southern Hills Christian Church, with additional community voices to be announced.
